Peer, the Spectacle!!

Mon, Jul 16, 2012 at 4:18 PM

Just got home, as Peer is more or less in our backyard :-) and Johns show was close to the best EVER!!
Sound was great, his voice a lot better, he had lots of chats and laughter with the audience, he added 3 songs, of wich two as a super surprise extra encore!!! (also to the band I think, they allready left and came back with hats on and jackets on) GOOD GOLLY miss molly, how close to heaven can you get!!! what a fun concert!!

and thanks to his super band, we had a nice closure of the evening too, we had some nice chats with them, they are supersweet lovely people, everyone of them!

would have been the best day ever if it werent for those morons that walked around there as worker. (wel most of the workers were really nice people ofcourse,) I felt even ashamed at one point to the band that this happened in "my" country. (I only live here guys! I'm dutch! Actually from Amsterdam, where that great Ziggodome concert took place!)

Met lots of friends and everyone was happy about this fantastic gig! Me too, but I gotta go to work in 6 hrs :-)
Wanna thank John and Julie and Bob and band and crew and everyone once again for such a fantastic tour once again!!!

lots of love and hugs, Petra

This was the best show of the tour
maybe not technicaly although I think it was
but there were the most cheers , whisling and shouting
    everybody sang on Cottenfields
the voice back , nooo not Frank Sinatra
    John seemed very happy
he had glittering on the outside palm of his left hand
    we noticed it
he told a story that in Amsterdam he fell in the canal
and that Kelsey had put a tattoo on his hand
    funny but not true
Kelsey had put a blue glittering horse and red glittering music notes on his hand
with the extra encores and thank you's to the technicians , to the band and to the fans
this made it the best evening
    THANK UUUUUU John Fogerty
This is all from reporter Arnold
over to the States and Canada and over to reporter Darlene

WOW! What an eventful evening indeed.

It's been a great show even though the sound was insanely loud and boomy in the front
Loads of insanely funny moments when John found out there was something going on with the stage floor he kept jumping on it

John spotted me during Gunslinger and said something like "Hi Jeff" while he was doing a solo and battling a cold!

Then later on i asked for him to play "I'm Working On A Building" from the first BRR album. At one point i thought he was going to kick it off because he said "We're going to do something a little different now" but he did Cottonfields like in Denmark!

Hopefully it, and songs alike will find its way back into the setlist for a little more variation, i thought the iteration of the song at the 2009 Peer festival was brilliant

Anyway, after that all went down we spotted John had some decoration on his hand so we wanted him to tell us what it was, and he said he would tell us about it during the middle of the show.

Soooo... Middle of the show.. I was cheeky and yelled at him that it was middle of the show! And he looked at me like i was crazy and said something funny, i can't remember specifically what he said

Anyway, he told us what it was after joking about falling into a canal in Amsterdam and getting it at a tattoo shop, his daughter put it on his hand (as we suspected of course!)

Then as mentioned above when the show was over we packed our stuff and were just chatting a bit and all of a sudden i saw John walking across stage and everyone was absolutely dumbstuck!! What was he doing on stage after the show? I thought he was gonna talk to us or something, but he came back for a second encore! And the crowd went NUTS

Glad he played Good Golly Miss Molly and Up Around The Bend, we had a great time.

Will post more elaborate tomorrow as it's 3:00 am and i need to go snooze

    or moose

Well, some of you have almost written about this outstanding evening with John & his Band. I was standing right in front of him and his mic, next to Petra and Robert, Hildegarde and Robert Q. Had my white T-Shirt "Stuck In Lodi" on, which I bought in LODI in February. I was poiting at it while John was doing the song. Don´t know if he saw that, because the stage was very high. I even couldn´t see Kenny on stage :-(

I want to thank John, his family and his band for give us TRUE BLUES such great memories. My heart is full of joy and I´m so motivated to go on playing his music every time I see the man.

BTW, Shane is getting better and better on guitar. Chapeau!! I could see the joy of John in his face as Shane was rockin´ & bending notes on his Rickenbacker.

John, I wish you and your family a well deserved time at home. And don´t forget to finish your new CD. Can´t wait for the next time.

Indeed more than 12000 people again in our small country again for our hero John Fogerty. And what a concert gaves he and the band to us.Amazing.John had a lot of fun on stage and have a great interaction with the public.
Thanks to The organisation (Espicially Jan) and Robert Aerts the John Fogerty fans can stand frontstage at a reasonable price. That was nice for John and the band and also for the fans because they know eachother.
All the people are dancing and singing and John said after a song that he had so much fun now even more than sang together that Rockin'all over the world with Bruce Springsteen a few days before in Londen.
The band was great as always and the new ones as Bob Malone ( amazing as he played and had fun and jump on his keybords) and Randy Kohrs ( if you don't heard this guy before please look for him on google or something. He's really great. The other members we all heard sometimes before and we all know that there fabulous musicians. The Rhytm section with Kenny (get his drumstick and signed after the show Thanks Kenny) and Dave are amazing as always.John must be very happy to have these 2 great fellows on his side.
James Intveld and Shane Fogerty proved again that they had their places in this great band.
John had so much fun during the show that somewhere in the middle of the show he said that he will gave us an extra song named Cotton fields and after the 2 encores of Rockin'all over the world and Proud Mary,John and the band cames back for 2 great songs.Good golly Miss Molly and Up around the band.
It's difficult to choose wich song was the best because the whole show was awesome. And i was suprised about John's voice after i heard that his voice was not so good in the earlier shows (because he had a little coldin his voice) but at Peer his voice was great.
I loved Lookin'at my back door a lot at Peer.Maybe the best version i've heard of this song. Also amazing version of Long as i can see the light.Good golly miss Molly rocks great with a solo of John 's son Shane. But as i said all songs were so great that i cann't choose.
It was again an evening that i will never forget.John gave me so much good memories time after time with his music and all his concerts that he's one off the most important guy's in my life.
Thanks again for all the joy you gave me John

Yeah!!! Great, great show! John's voice was almost back to normal (especially considering how bad it was just 2 days before), and he and the band rocked big time!!! The sound was exceptionally good even in the first row, everything was loud and clear (some found it too loud, but I always wear earplugs, so I wouldn't know...). This was surely one of the best shows of the tour together with the one in Oulu! It was fun to meet a couple of guys from the band after the show! Too bad the tour was only 10 concerts, I wouldn't have minded adding another 10 to it! :-)

Thanks to all the friends (especially Robert & Petra, of course!), to the band, to John and the people around him for making this the coolest honeymoon ever! THANK YOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!

And John, if you read this, what I meant to say yesterday was that it was 12 days to the wedding, and we've been together for 5 years!

    One funny thing
there was only one security-man in front of the stage
a man dressed in black with a black leather vest and a black Stetson and cowboy-boots
he also had a moustache (nooo Robert and Petra NOT a moose-tache !!!!!)
he looked like a real GUNSLINGER
btw he was good and efficient

Peer sounds like one of those really amazing, extremely fantastic, miraculous shows!
I know that John Fogerty & BAND put on incredibly fantastic shows as per routine,
but this one sounded like it was the top of the tops!!!!

I know Belgium has the highest ratio of true blue, died-in-the-wool, crazy & consumed Creedence/Fogerty Fans worldwide!!! So they really do deserve the extras!!!

Thank you so much for the review!!! Really enjoyable!!!!

Us fans in the US really send out hugs and huge thanks to you all.

I thought the security guy was pretty stupid.
When we were all standing at our spot in front of the stage for three hours already he tried to move us all to the left end of the frontstage , which is impossible of course, so we said "NO" :-)
Later on came several people in wheel-chairs, who usually don't belong in a pit right in front of stage but in a separate safe place.I feel sorry for these people but bringing them in there wasn't a good idea I think.
Then he also told everybody not to take pictures anymore after the third song, which usually is the rule for the official photographers, not for the fans :-) But he couldn't ruin my concert , I loved it.

yes it was like Vinstra Revisited! And though he gave away some setlists when he was onstage, I hope he gave away all those guitarpicks he put in his pocket too!!! (no, I dont need one, have a lot allready, just saying)

I think that poor man has nothing to say in his real life. He was glad that he could use his job to rule for two or three hours. Dressed like that, smoking a big aweful smelling cigar and acting like he did, he must have some mental problems.
