Wrote A Song For Canada

Caught the Oshawa Show last night and it was incredible!
This is my 5th time seeing Mr. Fogerty and all the shows have been great, but this concert really was above and beyond all expectations.
Our fav drummer is still here but much of the rest of the band are new faces and brought a lot of energy to the show. It was great to hear John's guitar snarl through many of the bluesy Bayou Country album cuts and then later to have him play acoustic and give the other players some lead guitar air time. The piano (and accordion) player was amazing and brought an entire new feel to the show, some stellar playing and he was definately having fun on stage.
The stage!! This is far, far beyond any stage show Fogerty has had before. The lights, video screens (3) videos of John live mixed with footage from his CCR days, smoke machines, flame machines, confetti canons, video backdrops (giant candles during "long as I can see the light") were amazing, amazing, amazing!
And the set list was everything you could ever want, the hits, the crowd favourites, deep album cuts for the fanatical fans, all played with amazing guitar chops, passionate voice, top notch guitarists, powerhouse drums, cool piano and everyone was having a blast.
It's hard to compare 5 shows over ten years, I almost decided to skip, this one, I am so glad I went because I think it was his best concert ever.
Highlights: the smoldering "long as i can see the light" the romantic "joy of my life" the fun "high heeled sneakers (not sure of title) seeing John play at the top of the stairs on a few tunes, the awesome piano parts, the stage/video screens/special effects, and of course the crowd which kept on chooglin all night long.
Thank you John for not just dialing it in, but rather giving everything you had and then some!

Couldn't agree more with Swampy Pete. Was at Oshawa concert last night. Third time to see J.F. This was by far his best production yet. He's only 2 years older than me and I don't know how he does it or how he keeps up with the pace....10 more shows in the next 13 nights, between here and Victoria B.C. People, you're in for a real treat. Can't wait to see him again.....OLD GUYS ROCK !!!
