Fogerty and Native Americans

I was asked by some members of the Onondaga Nation to check in and see if anyone remembers when John Fogerty might have paid a visit(s) to the Iroquois Confederacy reservations in the early 1960's, particularly around the Syracuse area.

One compelling story hears about a young Mr. Fogerty walking up to a campfire where Onondaga people were sitting around it and he introduced himself and started to play his guitar and was singing. The people there were just thrilled.

Of course, CCR donated a boat to the Alcatraz Island occupation by ION (Indians of All Nations) in early 1970 as well.

has anyone ever heard any of these stories for themselves about John Fogerty being on teh reservations?
