The last 15 years...Fogerty out on tour/Livin' LARGE!
Has it been 15 years already that John Fogerty has revived and revved-up his musical career?
I remember he came out to perform at the LA Greek Therater on August 28th 1997. He was promoting "Blue Moon Swamp" and it was a night under a full moon that I will never forget!
It was so good to have John back in action; performing his new songs, and his magical older songs from Creedence. Muddy and I couldn't beleive we were seeing the legend perform LIVE in concert - after all those years. I remember seeing him singing "I Put A Spell On You" with such power and obsession; it just blew my hair back big time!!!
I never thought that we'd ever hear from John ever again. He had been gone for so many years and every time he went away, it was as if he vanished from the face of the earth.
I was so happy to have the master back! It felt like a true miracle that he could overcome all those hard times and harsh lessons and emerge - better than ever!
What would have happened if this miracle never happened all these years ago?
I think the world would have been missing alot of magical moments had John Fogerty not found his way back.....It inspired me to challenge myself to do the things I never would have attempted! He was a great example to me and to many to keep on trying!
Keep up the good work, John and everyone!!!!

Hey Mary, My son and I were at that same concert, what a great and special concert it was. I was so jazzed to be able to see John live after so many years. The last time I saw him live was in LA in 1986. I also saw John when he was at the Greek in 1998.

My sentiments, exactly, DRBQ, It has inspired me, personally, the way John was able to bring himself back from the brink of exstinction to once again become one of the preeminent R&R performers of all time. Although, I did not see John perform live until Massey Hall in Toronto in 2004, I can remember it like it was yesterday. Up until that point I never thought I would see John play live, let along be in the same building as him. My wife and I rushed up to the front of the stage for the last few songs. I got as close a 5 or 6 feet away from John. I was walking on air for along time after that. it His music catalog is arguably one of the best ever. As John has stated recently he is lucky that he can still go out and perform his great music at his age because he loves doing it. John, (us fans) are the lucky ones, too, that you still have the health and the fire to make your awesome music.
Thanks so much, John, for all your hard work and travelling etc and everything else the goes into producing your wonderful music. Again I am dedicating my sig line to you John as I believe that you thought a lot of John F Kennedy because you mentioned him in your great song "I Saw It On Tv"
BTW, congrats on your recent successful Canadian tour. I was proud when I read all the reviews of your shows.

I remember when John came to perform three shows at the House of Blues in L.A. back in '97. I got there at the crack of dawn on the morning tickets went on sale, thinking for sure that I would be the first one there. But that was not to be the case. In line first was Dan and his wife. It was so great to meet someone who was as much a Fogerty nut as I was. He had pictures with him and stories of driving up to the Bay Area and tracking down John Fogerty. Man, talk about feeling envious. Great memories for sure!

hi all
Great post queenie, after all the problems with john fogerty and creedence and the record label , i thought the time had passed when i would get the opportunity to hear the great songs penned by john fogerty "live"..... well i went to oslo ,norway in 1997 with my great creedence friend ron boden from liverpool, well the first notes played on the intro to born on the bayou sent chills down my spine, it was quite emotional i can tell you, I sadly never saw creedence "live" so from the age of about 14, i have carried all of john fogertys songs hoping one day i would hear then performed "live", .....he didn`t let me down.
