The Merchandise store !

Fri, Jan 4, 2013 at 1:12 AM

So many nice items in the Merchandise store, like a 2013 calendar for instance,
but still the same old problem for people like me who don't live in the USA.
Postage cost is outrageous to foreign countries.
I tried to order 2 small things, but postage cost for them was already $44, and that was not even priority mail, so it may take 6 to 7 weeks to arrive over here.
Too bad. Also because a lot of friends from Europe want to buy lots of things.
There's a lot of collectors out here.
I think it must be possible to mail these items for at least one third of the price.
If I order other stuff from the US most of the times prices for postage are not even one third of these, so something can be done if they really want :-)

YES / this is a problem. The merchandise can be picked up by people who live near Orange County, which I am happy to do for you, Robert.

They only work Monday through Fridays, from 0900 to 1700 so I have to be patient and wait to call them
next Monday. Tonight it is Friday night, (LAKERS vs. CLIPPERS at the Staples Center now!!!)
My poor Lakers are getting WHOMPED ON!!! Oh noooooo!!!! Lakers 58 Clippers 61.
    Somebody's gotta do SOMETHIN'!!! * Sigh *

Meaning, Queenie, you'll then mail it to Robert for less $$$?

    Great work around.

I think I need to get that calendar and, sadly, the dogs ate my Centerfield ball cap, so I'll replace it with the Creedence one!

Johnnie - I really have no idea what US Postage to Belgium will be.
I hope it's not $44.00 for small stuff.
    But international rates are astronomical!
I have a sister who lives in VanCouver, Canada and I don't even send her anything in the mail anymore
b/c the postage is outrageous, plus they want to know what's inside the package you're sending,
then they tax you. Then when the person goes to pick it up from the post office,
they tax them too!!! You're basically paying for AIR!!!
IT's a GD ripoff, but what are ya going to do?
That's a very cool calender. I seriously want one!!! I am going to get one!!!!

    HONEY, HONEY, YEAH!!!! X O X O X O X O

As someone who has followed the Clippers since the days they were in San Diego, it's nice to finally see them beating up on the Lakers. Unfortunately, the Lakers wasted a ton of money with Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. They look great on paper, but they are older now, and I have a feeling that injuries, and simply being worn out by season's end, will make their playoff exit very early. My wife is a huge Lakers fan and was devastated when they let Derek Fisher go.

Even though I am a die-hard Lakers fan, I applaud the Clippers who have worked so hard for many seasons to get where they are today and now. I never begrudge those who are willing to work hard, sweat hard, and dream about their goals. I am so happy for CP3, Blake Griffin, Matt Barnes (Lakers never should have let him walk) Bledsoh, and the other team mates on the Clips. They deserve all the glory, and all the highjinks.

As for the LAKERS, I will continue to support them because I just love them. Especially Kobe Bryant, who is the real and true leader --- and coach for his team. So they got D'Antoni on the payroll as the lead coach; I don't know WHY? He is so lackluster and droopy. He has no defensive tactics or strategies to help this team. Some say Phil Jackson coulda turned it around, but I have my reservations. Jackson demanded top dollar, and he wanted his own private Gulfstream - but he didn't even want to go on the road for road games!!! - That spells a lack of commitment and selfishness - which will kill any team. Jackson unfortunately, puts his money, fame and needs ahead of the team and that will NEVER work for NOBODY - so goodbye and good riddance, Phil!!!

Meta World Peace is an exemplary player - he busts his ass to get a basket, as does the younger players such as Hill, Jamison, Meeks and the other young mustangs. Their fresh legs do the team the necessary good of keeping up with the other younger teams out there in the NBA.

Twin towers Gasol & Howard are not always performing up to par. There is no defensive strategies that I see being deployed. Steve Nash is looking promising, but it's hard to have two mega-Alpha Males on one team. It's Nash and Bryant and neither will defer.

It's going to be a long season this year, and I feel for the Lakers; they just ran out of luck or perhaps after all these years, some Romeo on the team angered some pretty little Voodoo Queen and she's going to stick her spells of doom & gloom on my glorious Lakers. Awww, now....

All I can do is cheer and continue with my own private works of kindness and mercy. No Voodoo Queen can outsmart the powers of good Karma and good thought control.

    Peace and blessings to all.

BTW - I did pass on by that little beige warehouse on Grove Street in Orange, CA. It has some nice double front doors that seem to silently say, "Welcome."
It's in the middle of nowhere, but just a stone's throw away is a Coca Cola bottling factory.
