The next day after the wonderfull Hamburg concert we drove to Jelling.
A really big big festival with several bands playing parallel
We arrived there around 3.00 hrs just before Amy Macdonald started her show.
I did not see Amy live before but she did a good job.
After Amy Mcdonald a famous Danish band TV02 performed.
In Hamburg it was nice weather but in Jelling there was a stonecold heavy wind so when John entered the stage we where alsmost frozen.
But that did not take long. When John entered the stage with Traveling Band we immediately get warm and happy.
John did not play Endless Sleep this time but instead of that Suzie Q.
The show was again great and John played a long extended solo in Penthouse Pauper.
What a great song this is.
Again John played Southern Streamline, Blue Boy and New Orleans.
John and Shane played marvelous in Mystic Highway. Real Firework !!
There was also firework from the organisation after John show.
Tired and happy saying goodbye to our friends Robert, Petra, Arnold, Karel and Egon we went to our hotel.
The next day we drived home.
Happily John will be back in Europe in about 5 weeks.
Can’t wait until John will be back
WOW ROBERT!!! WOW!!! What a nice review you wrote here!
I’m looking at the neat set-list: Long solo of Penthouse Pauper?? I was just listenin’ the Bayou Country CD the other day, and I loved hearing that song, along with Bootleg and Chooglin and the always powerful Born on the Bayou – of Course PROUD MARY – - – - Proud Mary always has a happy feeling to it.
Then you wrote that Southern Streamline was in the show, which is rarely played, and Blue BOY!!! NEAT!!!
New Orleans is a song that I don’t think that I”m familiar with,
so that means I have a homework assignment to do! Cool.
Nice to hear the Fogerty boys are joining in on Mystic Hwy and was there any Train of Fools?
