I’ve been wondering the same thing. Having keyboard ace Bob Malone in the band means that John would never need to sit behind the keys himself, so he must feel that he wants to stretch out a little on other instruments that we know he has played on past recordings. Don’t know if the piano song(s) would come from any of the 1969 albums, or if…[Read more]

  • Wonderful News! Announced by John’s team on Facebook but not yet on this site…

John has received and accepted a coveted invitation to perform before The President of the United States at The White House in a musical salute to our troops!! And we get to see it on PBS! More info in the link below.

Whatever you may think of President Obama (I,…[Read more]

I’m waiting for a report on the Frisco TX show. What song(s) did John and Jimmy perform together? How was the whole show??

Denis, John’s solo version of HYESTR can indeed be found on at least the US version of the soundtrack CD. You can also download it as an individual song from online music services like iTunes. Check it out.

And wouldn’t it be cool if the final chapter was entitled…

One thing I’m really curious about is John’s solo recording of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” that was produced by Dann Huff (who has produced some of Keith Urban’s records, among others) and appeared on the “Evan Allmighty” film soundtrack CD (although only the original CCR version was actually featured in the film, running over the opening…[Read more]

  • There’s something about that album that I just really love. I think part of it is that it is ALL John, with his wonderful multi-tracked vocals and charming one-man band instrumentation. And part of it may also be that those songs as a whole were not often played on the radio. Anyway, I find myself returning to this album again and again -…[Read more]

  • Thanks Swamp Girl! The work-around you described does work for me! If John’s FB avatar is displayed in your “Music” section Likes, then the issue may be on my side, although I can’t fathom what it could be. But at least I have your work-around.

    Keep on chooglin’,

  • Hi Swamp Girl,

I’ve got a question about John’s Facebook page. I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem, but it is driving me crazy: When one “Likes” or “Follows” a well-known person’s Facebook page, the Facebook avatar for that person is displayed in one’s account generally under the genre that they are most known for, such as…[Read more]

I have for some time been meaning to make my way down to LA Live and check out The Grammy Museum. Now I will do it for sure. Can’t wait to see this!

Thanks for the heads up, SG!

  • Hey Swamp Girl -

You have really piqued my interest with your comment about a possible late Sept cool surprise. I know that the star-studded I-Heart Music Festival is going on in Las Vegas on 9/20 and 9/21, I believe. Could it be that John will be added to the line up??? It was just announced several days ago that Sir Paul McCartney would…[Read more]

  • Hi SG – I sent you a private message yesterday. The irony is that now I don’t know if you ever received that. (I have not had much experience with the private messages on this site.)

    Please let me know. Thanks!

  • Hi SG – I sent an email with some pics attached but I have no idea if it reached its proper destination, as sometimes emails go astray or into limboland. Is there anyway to confirm that it was received? Thanks.

    Some guys need to hire a detective to find out if there’s any hanky-panky going on involving his ever-lovin’. But all I need to do is check into this Forum every so often and I’ll see Mr. Chicken laying it all right out there on the line! :-}

  • Creedence is up by about one half of a percent. Keep voting folks – Let’s build a safer cushion!

In the next round the winner will likely face Fleetwood Mac. I would think they might be a little easier to beat than The Doors; but you never know. Anyway, let’s make sure that we get to find out how CCR does against F-Mac by voting for CCR…[Read more]

  • Woohoo! Creedence has now overtaken The Doors for the lead! Keep it up and don’t let up! We might just win this against the legendary Doors!

  • THANKS SO MUCH Swamp Girl for all this great information! Despite the good news on the Street Pulse chart, I had been feeling a little down about not seeing much reported on the Mediabase radio play reports. But your info tells me that there is a lot of good stuff going on that I have been unable to monitor. And what’s more you report that…[Read more]

  • And it looks like everyone can vote as many times as they want! I’ve voted for Mystic Highway about ten times already. I suppose we can all vote all night but that might be getting a bit carried away. ;-)

BTW, before I navigated to the spot where the vote is John versus Pistol Annies, I found another spot related to the CMT Hot 20 videos that…[Read more]

  • I really appreciate the quick reply, SG! Thanks! Looking forward to what you find out and can report. Also keeping my fingers crossed that we see a similar upward nudge on the next Billboard album chart…

And — of course — the album DOES FREAKIN ROCK!! ;-)
