I just read your rundown of Cosmo’s Factory. Love it! What an awesome album.
I can’t believe three days have gone by and nobody has answered your question about the song you left out. That would be Travelin’ Band!
Please tell me I’ve won some tickets to John Fogerty’s upcoming concert here in Des Moines!?!?

I feel your pain deerhuntingal! I’m in a similar situation here in Des Moines, Iowa. The closest venues appear to be either Denver or Oklahoma. I am sometimes up for a road trip but this time it’s just not feasible.
To you and anyone else lucky enough to see JCF in concert: Cheer extra hard for those of us who can’t be there, OK?August 12, 2013 at 12:51 pm #1363
Your question is a good one and I don’t have an answer. But in case you aren’t aware, the 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert is preserved in several YouTube entries. My favorite is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I0NjeZyhUU
We have an elliptical near our home computer and I’ve many times received some good workout inspiration by playing that concert with the speakers as loud as they’ll go.June 20, 2013 at 7:12 am #926
We’re gaining ground! It is now Doors 51.44 to CCR 48.56. We will pull this out on a last second three pointer by Da River Boat Queen, I can see it now.June 18, 2013 at 7:39 am #839
A personal story regarding Swamp Girl’s comment about Father’s Day possibly boosting sales:
I’m one of those guys who is terrible at getting cards/gifts for family members. Even my own parents! My wife has graciously taken care of these matters for as long as I can remember.
But last Saturday – the day before Father’s Day – my wife told me that she just realized she had forgotten to get a card and gift for my Dad. I told her not to worry, that I would take care of it ASAP.
So a few minutes later, I hopped in the car to run some errands. I turned on WASFE and played Almost Saturday Night. That has become my personal favorite, which is interesting because I usually lean towards Mr. Fogerty’s rock songs (my #1 favorites have always been Commotion and Born on the Bayou).
As I was enjoying John and Keith sing about that motor wagon being ready to fly, it hit me. Not only would WASFE be a great Father’s Day gift for my Dad, it would probably be the best Father’s Day gift I’ve ever gotten for him. We’ve grown apart over the years, but when I was younger I was surprised to discover that our musical tastes had some overlap. And this most definitely included CCR.
So I bopped in to the local K-mart – sorry if that spoils the story but it’s the truth – bought WASFE for the 2nd time and shipped it to Dad that afternoon. Along with a card in which I explained my love for WASFE and my hope that he’ll enjoy it too. Can’t wait to hear what he thinks!June 17, 2013 at 10:56 am #811
Thanks for the inspired message! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to a 600-mile journey to see Mr. Ramble Tamble himself this fall. At the same time, I am surprised that there’s a rather large swath of the country up here that is not included on the current 2013 tour list. If they could add just one midwest venue, it would surely be a lot easier for many of us.
Keep on Chooglin,

With all due respect to your fans in France (I have a friend in Paris), please don’t forget your fans here in the midwest! I’m in Iowa and the closest venues appear to be in Denver and Oklahoma. That’s quite a ramble, even for a devoted Fogerty fanatic. I hope it’s not too much to ask for an additional tour date (or two) in places such as Kansas City, Minneapolis or even Des Moines.
