How awesome they gave you the bodywarmer! was it that cold too, not only rain?
Did you stand in the front? how about the stories I heard about standing “knee deep in the water” ? how was the let in, where calm or more pushing? I felt a bit bummed yesterday that we didnt go but in the end we really needed a rest.
John did something to P off the weathergods I think [JOKE]
Looking forward to tomorrow, Bospop!

thats not good Queenie I was thinking about it the other day, theres oil in pipelines all over the world, when will it be that we have rainwater in pipelines ?July 11, 2014 at 7:42 am #3320
(does this work??)
this is the square Piazza d’Unita Italia I found on the net, NOT from the concert. Johns stage was situated on the right on this picture, in front of tahat biulding with the green tower. On the left side on this picture is the sea!July 11, 2014 at 7:13 am #3319
No worries Swamp Girl, everyone who was there must have agreed about the situation. I cant imagine anyone would complain. We’ve seen enough horror stories on the news about concerts/festivals going bad. Several people died in a storm at a festival in our hometown a few years ago. And there are many many more sad happenings like that. SAFETY FIRST xxx <3July 11, 2014 at 7:08 am #3318
hey look, thats our hotel! I have pictures, will post them if I know how too.
ps: no, its not really our hotel, and yes, the city is super super pretty.July 11, 2014 at 7:06 am #3317
Hey Queenie! yeah, when it started raining I wasnt really bothered, it was still warm, and the mosquitoes washed away hehehe!!! we were standing tehre “yay, so far for the mosquitoes” haha!! we were prepared with raincoats so we didnt really bother, not even about the wet shoes as long as its not cold! and it wasnt as apocalyptical as in Trieste.
And yes, John stirss up the weather everywhere! It has been that as long as we follow him around. We always hear “this is really unusual” from locals
(maybe its us who attract the strange weather!)July 11, 2014 at 6:55 am #3316
actually I’m very happy I was there. Trieste is a very beautifull town, the concert settings were unique, the pre-show adrenaline and ending up standing center front row (with row 10 tickets to sit) the great hour of music we got, the fun afternoon hanging around on the square ;-D no one got hurt; only wet, and I’m glad I was part of it. Would have been better if the storm waited for an hour, but still, clearly a case of “the glass is half full” for me and wouldnt want to miss it.

yes this is a beautifull beyond words town. And it strangly feels American too to me. America in the mediterrean!! (the old buildings you see in San Fran, or New York) everything is huge and impressive here… even the storms

Pool partyyyyyyyy!!! it just adds rocknroll to walk away from a concert with your mascara smeared over your cheeks, soaked shoes and soaked butt what a great night!! loved how my neighbours without raincoats didnt want to be bothered by the heavy rainshowers!! Rocknroll Girls was just extra fantastic with all that water coming down, I dont know why
and that CROWD!!! starting singalongs between the songs! John even picked up Cotton Fields again! and SINGING along everything!! very behaved during the show, but hysterical when the drumsticks and guitarpicks were thrown in the crowd (we just watched and laughed. Pass the popcorn!! ) one of those nights when we walked back to the car with shoes going “schlp, schlp, schlp” and you just DONT CARE!!! What a night!!
and those mosquitoes! i’m sure they were singing along too in between of sucking all my blood out of me! (i’m totally covered in bug bites)
we’re not going to Munchen because we dont have a driver and a tourbus like some of us do so we’re staying in Italy (oh no! the horror! we have to stay in Italy! hehe! you know how great the food is here? And the coffee?)
woohoo from Milano!!

Hiiii Queenie google it, its amazing!June 1, 2014 at 3:03 pm #3175
Queenie, Robert found out “New Orleans” is a song written by Big Boy Myles, and was first a hit for Gary U.S. Bonds, and you may have seen it in the second Blues Brothers movie. Joan Jett had a hit with it too and its awesome.June 1, 2014 at 2:54 pm #3174
yes yes yes a great special festival and the concert was great! John looked very happy up there. He was not the only one who was freezing, it was so cold my nose was dripping and my fingers almost froze off!! Loved the stuff that was shown on the screen. Loved to be in a good spot at the front again, but the stage was so high that we couldnt see Kenny or James. Thanks to John and Robert I got a laugh attack just before down at the corner. John, if you happened to see it; I was just laughing my brains out, that was all… man I was folded over that fence the whole song. Never laughed so hard during a concert.
Like in Hamburg, loved to see the interaction with John and Shane. John is so proud and Shane is a great guitarist! Also loved that John took that young kids cd
well we just arrived home after a slightly annoying drive from Denmark thanks to over crowded German highway, but we made it ok and I’m ready for the next trip.

funny that you were talking about low volume, I left the place with a huge headache! Sound in jelling was way better at the front! (yeah yeah, the ever lasting risk of the sound at the front)
