The heady days of 1969 were alive and well at Casino Rama, when rock legend John Fogerty rolled in with Creedence Clearwater Revival on his mind. After years of upheaval with his CCR brethren, and refusing to perform his revered CCR hits, Fogerty put all that behind him and put together a marathon setlist that showed the depth and importance of the CCR catalogue.
A 15-minute video montage preceded the show, with interview footage featuring Fogerty, as well as iconic images from the late 1960’s, pulled together to give a snapshot into the vibe of those days. A large white curtain covered the stage as vintage concert footage of opening song “Born on the Bayou” was projected onto it. Part way into the song, backlights hit Fogerty creating a large shadow on the curtain, and the band kicked into the live version as the curtain dropped to get the show started.
