John Fogerty to release autobiography

John Fogerty will deliver his much-anticipated memoir, “Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music,” on Oct. 6, according to publisher Little, Brown and Company.

The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman promises to delve extensively into his early days growing up in the East Bay, battling for control of his songs and navigating solo success.

I’m excited to share my story and my life with you,” said Fogerty. “You’re going to hear where it all started, my passion to become the best musician I could be. You’ll travel down some rough roads, but that road leads to something beautiful. My book won’t be sugar coated. It’s all in there.”

Little, Brown and Company previously published Keith Richards’ biography, “Life.”

Fogerty, best known for hits such as “Fortunate Son” and “Bad Moon Rising,” launches an extensive U.S. tour in May, which oddly does not include any Bay Area dates.
