The Bay Area's own John Fogerty delighted classic rock fans at the NHL Stadium Series game between the San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
The 69-year-old Berkeley native's voice was a little rough, but the short set list was so sweet that it didn't really matter. Fogerty mined the songbook of his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and came up with pure gold.
Fogerty opened the set -- which came during the game's first intermission -- with "Bad Moon Rising." He'd then crank out a sensational medley of "Born on the Bayou," "Proud Mary" and, best of all, "Fortunate Son," which is nothing less than one of the finest rockers of all time. He closed the set with "Up Around the Bend."
