Playing all the CCR hits plus a few of his own, Fogerty’s repertoire goes on forever. But it was his energy and guitar that prevented this Encore Theater show from turning stodgy or pedantic. This was a rock concert, pure and simple.
Paisley enlisted the help of Rock and Roll hall of famer and former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman, John Fogerty -- an Army reserve veteran and, in Paisley's words, "the voice of the Vietnam era" -- to drive the point home.
As the pair sat down to write, "John Fogerty says, 'By the way, this is my first ever co-write.' I realize at that point, I'm in over my head," Paisley remembers. "This is a man who wrote everything himself his entire career. Sometimes the [other members of Creedence Clearwater Revival] got credit, but he never specifically sat in a room and did that before.
The 2017 Lockn’ Festival will take place at Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Virginia between August 24 – 27. Festival organizers promised lineup additions would be revealed this week and hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement comes another addition – John Fogerty.
